Educational Summit at Williamstown Middle School (Mar 12, 2014)

On March 12, 2014 WMS Environmental Club sponsored an Educational Summit at Williamstown Middle School to network with other Watershed Management Area 15 schools, uniting teachers and students from various school districts in a common education and awareness of our natural resources. Available programs from New Jersey Clean Communities and other DEP affiliated organizations were introduced. The summit addressed various issues including storm water run-off and stream monitoring.

Early education in environmental sciences plants seeds in the minds of young students so that they may develop and adopt the habits of mind needed for the sustainable future.  Our goal is for teachers and administrators to adopt a unity in the vision of working together as neighbors caring for a better future in Watershed Area 15, and having the resources to emulate practices which grow a clean, safe, sustainable future for all.
